MLM/Attraction Marketing Tip:"How To Recognize Attraction Marketing Lies"
Monday, November 2, 2009 at 10:19PM Many times prospects are not told that they do need certain skill sets to be successful. Many times this lie is told in order to get prospects to sign up. In the majority of cases, the prospect is suddenly left in the dark to work things out on their own. In reality the person who got them to sign up was simply doing what they were asked to do. If the truth be known they are probably in the same position to that of their newly enrolled prospect.
It’s no surprise then that the fallout rate for network marketing is over 90%. Most network marketers quit their business within the first 3 months.
Effective Network Marketing Skills
The lack of knowing where to get the necessary skills to succeed is is a huge problem in the business. The attraction marketing lies go way further than just convincing people they can do the business. This lie is usually followed by telling prospects that all they need to do is sign up and the rest of the work will be done for them. However, the lack of the necessary skills is a very real problem.
Most new network marketers think they need to be a general all-rounder. Included in the many hats they are led to believe they have to wear are that of a network marketer, a recruiter, prospector, coach, motivator, business manager, and salesperson. Do you know many people who have all of these skills? Of course not. Still every day tons of people are leaping onto the MLM bandwagon and rolling the dice on their hopes of making lots of money without thinking about how they are going to build their network marketing business.
Multi Level Marketing is an awesome business, but the training each prospect requires needs to happen the very minute they enter the business.New distributors should be lavished with proper training and education, instead of being bombarded with hype about how much money they can make.
The ‘how’ should be the focus. You must show your prospect how you & your system will help them to build , manage and grow their business instead of giving them an unrealistic picture with alot of hype.
If you provide them with value and telling them how, your chances are much better of getting them to trust you and becoming a member of your down-line. “Anybody can do this” is definitely one of the seven biggest attraction marketing lies as it fails to teach the prospect anything about how to achieve their goals with network marketing as the vehicle.

Warren: I could not agree with you more. I will never forget how the hype sucked me in more than once. The euphoric feeling you have when first joining an MLM company quickly disspates when reality takes over. There are just too many pieces of the puzzle that people aren't educated about. Network marketing is not a hobby... It is a full blown business! When people are going into something of the magnitude of running a business that may be foreign to them, they are at a distinct disadvantage. That being... not knowing the HOW TOs of running a business. So many elements make up starting, running and growing a business. Thus, the reason companies have people that have requisite skills. As a small business owner, the individual running the business should have the requisite skills. How does one sharpen and hone the skills, especially when it's just you? Training and Education! It's as simple as that.
A very well written post and I have to agree with the above comment. I used to blame my upline for sucking me into my business. Then get mad because i felt like I didnt know what i was doing (whether it was right or wrong) I still wasn't getting the results I wanted. I had re-educate myself just as if I was going to a on the job training program.
Now I get it and can do my business alot more effectively.
"Many times prospects are not told that they do need certain skill sets to be successful" is a very valid statement about our wonderful business. Walter thanks for this great post.
