Home Based Business Offline Marketing Tips - "The Top 15 Ways To Promote Your Home Based Business Offline"

I recently put together some great ideas for promoting your home based business offline.

In fact we’ve been teaching our Team A.T.A.P. (All Things Are Possible) Business Partners these simple strategies for over 10years now. It’s probably one of the reasons 80% of our Business Partners make over 100K+ a year working from home!

Even with the outstanding potential for making connections and promoting your products and services online, there are still many advantages to offline promotion.

Some of these ideas will work best for traditional direct selling opportunities, others are excellent for network marketing businesses as well.

I have a lot of these, so I’ll spread them out among 3-4 posts rather than creating one huge article. Pick your favorites and comment below to share your experiences!

1. Take a snack sized sandwich bag and make a little packet that you can hand out to people you run into everywhere – include your business card, opportunity flyer, current specials if that applies, samples if you have them, etc.

2. Make up some flyers with your contact information (phone, email, website) and include details about any specials you’re offering. Contact local apartments, mobile home parks, housing developments, etc. and see if you can leave brochures in their office or distribute them by placing on residents’ doors. Offer the people in the office a gift or discount on products they order from you.

3. Get in touch with bridal supply stores, catering services, formal wear rental centers, etc. See if they will let you leave your business cards & brochures about the wonderful (Your Company’s Name) Bridal Gift Registry that they can give to customers. Offer them a free gift or discounts for helping you out.

4. Look for local daycare centers and leave a few cards, brochures, and perhaps discount offers there. Excellent place to find potential work at home moms.

5. Many churches hold a Spring and Fall Festival! Contact them and see what it costs to get a booth or table. The cost is often very reasonable and you can meet a lot of people. It’s a good idea to do a contest type drawing at these events. You can capture contact information and follow up with them later!

6. Join your local chamber of commerce and get involved! They frequently have events and functions that you can participate in.

7. Do you have a local college or university? Many students are looking for ways to make extra money, and a business they can work around their challenging schedule is very appealing. Most campuses have bulletin boards and other areas where you can post ads and leave brochures.

8. See if you have a local area “Welcome to the Neighborhood” type group. They often hand out packets with local business promotions and even samples. Include yours!

9. Contact the human resources department at local hospitals. Many hand out packets filled with goodies for new moms!

10. Check with local radio stations, they have contests and promotions and are always looking for sponsors and freebies.

11. Do you have a bingo hall in your area? They are always looking for people to donate prizes, and this is a big deal in some areas.

12. Get in touch with your local Chamber of Commerce and inquire about job fairs held in your local area. Rent a booth or table and tell people about your business opportunity.

13. Call local colleges and universities and see when their next job or employment fair is. A booth is often cheap at these events and you can get a lot of prospects this way.

14. Target your local gyms and health clubs! You can get a table for $30 or less in most cases. Make sure you have several products out, plenty of catalogs, business cards and brochures.

15. Find others in your area who are in a home business and network. Find out what events and promotional opportunities they participate in. They can often tell you about strategies and venues that would otherwise be difficult to find.

Selecting a Network Marketing Company should be based on a business decision and NOT an emotional decision. If you still don't agree then I'm not going to will to you my 10 McDonald franchises!

MYTH #2: Your product is "The best product in the world". Look...there is only one network marketing business that can lay claim to having the "best" product in the world and neither you nor I know what company that is. It's impossible to know! Yes, it's okay to have a passion for your product but when choosing a company understand this:

They cannot logically lay claim to having the best product in the world. Heck, they may not even have the best product in their city! The good news is, it doesn't matter. The only issue is: DOES IT WORK ...NOT IS IT THE "BEST"! (See MYTH #1)

4 Questions to Ask When Choosing a Network Marketing Company

1. The Marketplace? Is the Network Marketing Company you are exploring on the forefront of a huge expanding market, the middle of a soon to be mature market or the worst possible position of all at the end of a declining market? This is a CRITICAL question because you can be "average" and still make it big if you are positioned in the front of a major expanding market.

3. The Market Trend? Wealth is created by being in front of large trends. Timing is everything! Concentrate on large, aggressive and long market trends. Two issues will create major trends of the next 10-20 years. First are products associated with maintaining or enhancing personal health and second are "baby boomer" retirement issues.

4. The Leverage Factor? Can you create leverage in your prospective Network Marketing business? Without leverage you will NEVER create financial security. 95% at age 65 can't afford to retire because they worked their entire lives for "linear" income...so they got paid only when they worked. By utilizing the work hours of others, you can leverage your time. This is how all wealth is built. TIME leverage assures that you will NOT end up being a part of that 95%!

The Most Effective MLM/Network Marketing System for YOUR Success in The Home Based Business Profession

There are two kinds of Network Marketing businesses: those that occasionally work, and those that consistently duplicate... And if you're interested in building a business that consistently duplicates—so you can earn more money and create more free time to enjoy your life—you need to be using a system; sometimes referred to as your daily method of operation.

Now it is important to understand there are two different kinds of systems: 1) How you learn the business (the knowledge part), and 2) How you build the business (the activity part). In a perfect world both systems would be the same—what you learn is what you do—however this will not always be the case. Let me explain...

When it comes to the knowledge part, the best system to learn the Network Marketing business is to read for 30 minutes everyday, listen to an audio program for 30 minutes every day, and to take four classes every year. The idea here is that as you get better, building your business will get easier.

Does this mean everything you read, hear, or learn, should become a part of what you do—part of your daily method of operation? No. Because when it comes to our background, our ability, or our belief, we can all be a little bit different. Therefore, some people may need to work on a certain skill, or get better, in a certain area that is not necessarily a part of the system...

For example, while some may need to give attention to improving their attitude, others may need to build their belief in the Network Marketing industry, or even in their company, as still others go to work on becoming more comfortable around strangers. After all, if you had a bad attitude, didn't believe in what you were doing, and were afraid to talk to people, building a successful business would be all but impossible regardless of your daily method of operation.

MLM/Network Marketing|Home Based Business-"The TRUTH About Why You Failed In The MLM/Network Marketing Profession" - Part 1

Far too many people fail in the Network Marketing business because of one basic but very important reason.   If you failed in Network Marketing see if you find yourself saying Amen to this article.

One reason far too many people fail in the lucrative Network Marketing business is because:  

They perceive Network Marketing as being a simple business model that is so easy it requires no special skills or talent.  

It's no wonder they think that. Most were introduced to Network Marketing by someone "selling" them on how easy it is, how much money they can make and how little time or investment is required.  Since most people tend to want something for nothing it's no wonder people join with the wrong attitude.   

I spent 10 years as the Chief Financial Officer of a Mutli-Million Dollar Transportation Corporation. Before I could handle that position, I had to first learn a number of skills and gain a lot of knowledge...all learned over time by trial and error and with help from many people.    

The Network Marketing business is a profession.  To be successful you must:

1.  Be willing to spend the time required to learn skills that you do not now possess.

2.  Stay in the game long enough to allow yourself to learn those required skills.   

Most people don't get it...you can't learn the professional Network Marketing business skills in a day, week or month...not even in a few months.  Success in Network Marketing takes time. There are rarely any overnight successes.   You cannot become a doctor or welder without education, training, mentorship, trial and error and TIME!   

If you want to help people become successful, start telling them the truth BEFORE they join your Network Marketing Company.   It takes 3-5 years to become an "overnight success"...not 3-5 weeks or 3-5 months.  And...you must work at it consistently on at least a part-time (not "spare-time") basis over that entire 3-5 year period.   Education and training are great but it's only through the actual "doing" of it over time that skills are actually learned.   

You need a business strategy that:

1.  Gets people in and

2.  Keeps them in long enough to progressively learn new skills, habits and attitudes that are required for long-term success in their Network Marketing business.    

 

The key words are "keeps" and "progressively".   If people don't stay in long enough then they can't learn enough to be successful and that learning curve is by nature progressive over time...there is simply too much to know and learn all at once.   

This is important...in over a decade of success in this Industry I have never met anyone that had the required skills, habits and attitudes when they first joined.   I have met a lot of people with backgrounds, education and experience that thought they already had those things...but when they found out they did not...they quit.  Of course they blamed it on the company, product, compensation plan, their sponsor, time limitations...anything but themselves.

Network Marketing/MLM Training | "The 5 MOST Important Things You MUST Know To Choose THE RIGHT Sponsor For YOUR Network Marketing Business

Okay, at last you believe you have found the "right" company...thanks to the articles over at The Network Marketing Solutions Blog.

But your task isn't over. The next big decision is who will be your sponsor. I know what you are thinking, "But don't I have to join with the person who introduced me to this particular network marketing business"? In a word, "NO"! Look, your sponsor holds the key to a large part of your Network Marketing success (or failure!).

It's YOUR future and that of your family's so don't just jump on any horse and start riding. Don't put your future in the hands of just anybody.

The 5 Most Important Elements to Look For in a Great Sponsor:

1. Experience: Has your potential sponsor "Been there done that" or are they new to the whole network marketing business concept? If they are new, do they have the ability to tap you into leadership (perhaps their sponsor) that can help mentor you? How serious are they? Do they want to earn some money...or a lot of money? It helps if your ultimate goals are similar.

2. Success: Has your sponsor had success in the network marketing industry before? If so, what type of success? They don't have to have been a six-figure earner but you also don't need someone who has been in several programs who has had no success at all.

3. Availability: How easy is it to make contact with your sponsor? What are their work hours? Are they available for 3-way calls and if so when? Be careful. If your sponsor is too successful they may not have the time for you. Likewise, if they are only working their network marketing business on a "spare- time" basis instead of a "part-time" or "full-time" basis...they won't have time for you either.

4. Compatibility: Do you get along? Are your personalities compatible? You will be spending a LOT of time with them so this is very important!

5. Systems and Tools: Do they have the systems and tools in place to help you become successful? This would include:

o Team Calls
o A training program. How complete is it and how do you access it? Does it cost anything?
o Team web sites or something equal such as a webinar like this=> http:www.C4HTeam.com
o Simple recruiting system  
o Product sales training
o Access to business tools (business cards, flyers, marketing tools, etc.)

I know...the person you talked to may not meet the above qualifications so what do you do?

You must either:
1. Determine if someone in their upline can provide these things for you.
2. If not...then you MUST find a different sponsor.

If you can access all the above tools, and assuming you and your sponsor are compatible, then you should join with them. The likelihood is that your potential sponsor cannot provide this type of support because they, like most potential sponsors, are working their business part-time. However, it doesn't matter as long as the business systems are in place and you have access to them you can become successful.

What Doesn't Matter When Choosing Your Sponsor for Your Network Marketing Business:

1. Where your sponsor lives: It is a B-I-G myth that you need a sponsor in your hometown in order to build a successful network marketing business. Listen up...NO YOU DON"T! With today's technology it is totally irrelevant where your sponsor lives.

2. Age: Pay attention...NO IT DOESN'T! It's not about their age (any more than it's about your age). It's about the systems that are in place. Today, more and more young people are making it big in this industry and their inbred knowledge of how to use technology such as the Internet to build a network marketing business can be a big help to their success.

3. Male versus Female: Give me a break! If this is an issue with you...then you need to find a job and stay there. Note: 70% of those joining a network marketing business are women!

4. Background/Education: It doesn't matter if they are a doctor or a welder. What matters is what kind of person they are and what systems they can get you plugged into.

Concentrate on finding a sponsor that either has the systems and tools in place and/or can guarantee you can access those successful systems and tools and, assuming compatibility, then nothing else really matters...and you will be on your way to building a successful Network Marketing Business.

MLM/Network Marketing Home Business - The Truth About The "OLD SCHOOL" vs "NEW SCHOOL" Lies You've Been Told!

Please allow me to be brutally blunt as this is a major issue with me, but it's time someone told the truth when it comes to building a high volume, high profit, Network Marketing business.

There are A LOT OF  people on the Internet promoting a concept that's not true.

Here is why I am very concerned:

Concern #1: Many people selling themselves on the Internet as "experts" have never actually "been there done that" for any length of time.

Concern #2: These "experts" are trying to convince (sell!) you that you can build a Network Marketing business using just the Internet without actually talking to anyone because people are just going to find you and sign-up. And what is the good news? They can teach you (sell you!) a program on how to do that and you will live happily ever after.

Listen up...there is no short-cut in this industry...PERIOD!

Pay attention (Boy is this going to make a lot of SO CALLED "experts" mad at me!) the Internet is a TOOL...it is NOT the business! You are building a Network Marketing business that requires a LOT of different tools in the tool box and the Internet is just one of them. It can be a very effective tool under the right circumstance but at the end of the day it's still just a tool. Many of these "experts" trying to sell you something want you to believe the Internet IS the business.

Concern #3: Many are promoting a dangerous philosophy. They call it "old school" versus "new school".

Pay attention...this is important...

THERE IS NO "NEW SCHOOL!...Did you get that? There have been little (if any!) fundamental changes to this industry in the last 50-years!

Yes, the tools have changed but the core business building methods have not.

History Lesson 101:

In the "old days" people made a list of their "friends and relatives". Why? Because, at the time, this was the only method available to make a contact list. How was the business presented?

Live...first it was in living rooms and later in large hotel meetings.

Then came the "audio-phase". Someone recorded an audio tape and taught everyone else how to pass it out. The tape did the "sorting and qualifying" of the prospect for you. The most famous (or infamous!) tape of all time was the "Dead Doctors Don't Lie" tape. Who did they give the tapes too? Anyone that would take them but ALWAYS that included their friends and relatives!

Next was the "VCR-phase". Wow! This changed everything because now we could really promote our network marketing business and, more importantly, the "lifestyles" of our successful distributors. This was a great advantage to the "average" distributor because the video did the entire business presentation for them. Later the video was replaced by the improved (and cheaper) DVD.

Then came the Internet and "auto-responders". Buy a list of names, email "blast" them about your Network Marketing business and those that responded became your "contact list". The others continued to receive emails called "drip letters"...because they would "drip" on them week after week for months...just like Chinese torture!

By necessity we needed a method to present our opportunity in the fastest and least expensive way possible. Mailing video tapes or DVDs was very expensive so...

The "web site phase" was born. Now anyone could look professional. It was FREE...and provided instant access to everything a prospect needed to know about your network marketing business. Ultimately, we added audios and videos directly onto the web site.

How could it possibly get any better than that? Oh...it can!

Today it's "webinars". A webinar is a PowerPoint Presentation with audio. Since most people never look a web site (90%) and people are too busy to go to meetings anymore, we take the meeting to them in the comfort of their own home on their laptop.

What about "auto-dialers"? You purchase a list of names, record a message and "blast" that message to the phone systems of those on your list. It's been successful for years in other industries and it's just the beginning in the Network Marketing business.

Oh...I almost forgot. That "New School" thing we were discussing...

Well...it's nothing more than the next logical use of the Internet to generate your own leads.

I’m sorry...I thought we already did that using "auto-responders" 10-YEARS AGO! True...but now it's free through use of chat boards, YouTube, postings, blogs, articles, etc...nothing new...just different ways to accomplish the very same thing...generate leads!

THERE IS NO ONE "RIGHT" WAY to generate leads. A professional uses a number of different lead generating techniques ALL AT THE SAME TIME!

The real issue is what do you do with that lead once you get it?

Concern #4: If I don't join your Network Marketing business, what good was it to get me as a lead regardless of where I came from? Oh...I forgot...I'm just going to pay my hard earned money and sign-up without ever talking to you.

Read the following sentence at least three times...

"If someone is willing to spend $100-$500 (or more) to join your Network Marketing business without ever having talked to you...they probably aren't smart enough to build a business anyway"!

MLM/Network Marketing Recruiting/Prospecting Tips- The Real Reason You Won't Talk to Your Friends and Family About Your Network Marketing Business

Today the "new" thing is that you not only can but you should build a Network Marketing business without talking to your friends and relatives.   Everywhere you look people are putting down the idea that talking to friends and relatives because it's "old school". They want you to look at this issue emotionally. I want you to analysis it intellectually. 

Why You Won't Talk to Your Friends and Relatives...the REAL reasons:

1. Credibility. You have no credibility with your friends and relatives. After all...you aren't rich yet!   They know you too well...so you can't "fake it until you make it". Since you can't tell them why you will be successful this time, you just avoid the issue altogether by not telling them about it in the first place. 
 
2. You don't believe in your company. No you don't! Because you paid money to join a Network Marketing business doesn't mean you actually believe in it. Belief in your company takes time and is ONLY tested when something happens that you don't like! (Read that again.) Anyone can have a "belief" when things are going well.    
 
3. You don't believe in your product(s). Belief in your product is the easiest belief to gain. It either works or it doesn't. However, you have to take it or use it long enough to gain that belief.

4. You don't believe in your opportunity. NO YOU DON'T! Until you actually make money...you don't believe in it. Want proof? Who is the most important person in your life?  Do you want to see them financially free...or some stranger you met on a chat board! If you REALLY believed in your opportunity, if you REALLY believed that you were going to become rich...then why would you want to take some stranger on the trip with you instead of someone you know? That simply makes no sense. The only people who won't talk to their friends and relatives are those that don't believe in their opportunity!

3. If your company has a "fast-start" program it's very important you qualify for it. You will NOT earn that bonus if you insist on only recruiting in from the cold market.  It takes time to fill up your pipeline and there won't be enough time if the Internet is the only technique you use.

Network Marketing/MLM Training- The Secret to Building Your Network Marketing Business is Finding Your "Magic Number"

Did you know that everyone has a "Magic Number" and once you understand it, it guarantees both financial success and time freedom? Would you like to know what your "Magic Number" is? Well, now you can!

We have all heard that building a successful Network Marketing business is a "numbers game". What that means is if we just talk to enough people we can ultimately become successful. But how do we know how many people we need to talk to? Is it even possible to find out and if so "How do you find it"?

The answer is "Yes, it is"...and we can do so by first understanding some history. By looking at what others have done it tells us what is possible for us to do. Let's look at the "Law of the Magic Number" and how to find yours.

A number of years ago ABC did a show on Amway...the largest Network Marketing business in the world. They interviewed Bill Britt, a multi-millionaire in this industry. When asked, "What is your secret" he replied, "There is no secret. I simply showed the plan to 1200 people, 900 said 'No' and only 300 signed-up. Out of the 300, only 85 did anything at all...out of those 85 only 35 were serious...and out of those 35...11 made me a millionaire." His "Magic Number" was 1200...! Get it!

Rich DeVos, cofounder of Amway Corporation became the 11th richest person in America. He once said that he sponsored 500 people, 495 dropped out and the 5 that stayed built the Amway Corporation. His "Magic Number" was 500...! Get it!

A friend of mine told me that he showed his Network Marketing business to 730 people and 579 said "No". Of the 151 that joined, 86 did something and of those 86 only 36 were serious. Of those 36 that were serious, 11 made him a millionaire ($80,000 a month!). His "Magic Number" was 730...! Get it!

For Bill Britt his Magic Number was only 11 out of 1200, for Rich DeVos it was only 5 out of 500 and for my friend it was just 11 out of 730...each found their "Magic Number" by "going through the numbers". The difference in their individual numbers was because of different skill levels, learning curves, personalities, backgrounds and experiences.

Because of a lot of factors everyone has a different "Magic Number". But...based on history we know this...Your personal "Number" is somewhere between 500 and 1500! But, here is the reality...Most people quit LONG before they find their personal "Magic Number"! They quit before the "blessing"... they just don't know it!

The fact is that most people trying to build a successful Network Marketing business simply don't stay in the game long enough to become successful. They talk to 2 or 3 people...no one is interested...so they quit. Most people fail in their Network Marketing business for the same reasons they fail in everything else they do. They don't have the required self-discipline and when you combine the lack of self-discipline with unrealistic expectations...it's a formula for disaster. And because of this...Most people peak when they sign their application!

So ask yourself this question, "Am I prepared to make presentations of my Network Marketing business (over the next 3-5 years!) to 500-1500 people"? If not...then just understand that you may make some money but you won't build long-term financial and time freedom.

Many people in the network marketing profession really try to sponsor and recruit folks, but simply never do, and they are not at fault a lot of times, because they are doing what they have been taught.

The Secret Voicemail Message That Compels 8 Out of 10 Prospects to Call You Back!!!

You just purchased some fresh home based business leads and it amazes you how many prospects are not there when you call. People aren’t calling back when you leave a voicemail message and you feel like you’ve wasted your time and money. Let me show you a foolproof voicemail message that makes prospects want to call you back right away.

You’re excited about the advertising campaign you just invested in and, as the leads come in, you start dialing, looking for the next Network Marketing superstar to join your team. Every time the voicemail picks up you get this sinking feeling because you’ve heard many times that people won’t call you back when you leave a message. You can choose not to leave a message and try calling back at different times or you can work smarter by leaving a message that compels prospects to call you back immediately.

The number one most important key when leaving a message is that you do not sound like a stranger. We have a concept that we teach called “friends first” which means that we begin ANY conversation whether in person or recorded in a friendly way. This requires that you have the same posture and body language as if you were talking to a friend. When you call one of your buddies and say, “hey Bob, what’s up? Give me a call, I gotta tell you something, bye,” you don’t sound like a stranger. I would leave a message for a prospect in the very same way. However which way I lead that conversation is how they will respond to it.

The 2nd key when leaving a message is not to come across as a salesperson. You are not talking to a machine. You are actually talking to a live person that’s going to listen to your message. Just because you are in a business that markets products or services does not mean that you suddenly become a telemarketer when prospecting. How many telemarketers do you call back when they leave a message?

The 3rd key is to actually call yourself and leave a message. You can practice this using one of these effective well-known voicemail scripts, leave a message listen to your message and ask yourself, “Would I call me back?” You’ll know within the first ten seconds whether you would call back or not. You only have a few seconds to make a lasting impression and to create and eager want in the prospect to call you back. 

 

If the prospect responded to a company specific advertisement then you would want to include your company’s name in the message. If the advertisement was non-company specific, then it’s best to leave the company name out.

For this example, your ad is general home business and does not mention your company’s name. Here’s what your message will sound like, “Hi Bob, this is Warren. I’m calling you back to get you the information you requested. I’ve been with the company for a few weeks and I’ve already made a thousand dollars. We’re doing some pre-screening interviews right now because there’s a lot of work on our part in establishing somebody in a home based business. So, if you are serious go ahead and give me a call back. I’ll get you that information and we’ll see if you have the qualities of the type of person we’re looking for. Network Marketing Leader Warren Little's Best Network Marketing Tip . . . Study,Do Then Teach!

Recently I ran across a study by the Direct Selling Association which stated 42% of Americans have yet to be contacted by someone in Direct Sales or Network Marketing. Imagine that! Forty-two percent!

I guess it's just one more reminder that when it comes to prospecting potential customers, or business-builders, most of our success is still: showing up, with something to say, and then repeating that same process again, and again, and again. Now if that's true—and it is—allow me to pass along three simple strategies to help ensure you achieve your fair share of success...

1) Study

Mark Twain once said, "The problem with the world is not that people know too little, but that they know so many things that aren't so." Therefore, if you want your business to become a bit easier to build over time—then learn how to prospect from someone who actually knows how to prospect! In other words: read the books, listen to the CD programs, take the classes, and you will get better over time. For example, here are three of the most important things I've learned about prospecting over the years...

a) In the beginning fear is normal! Indeed, we were all taught by our parents, "Don't talk to strangers!" However, overcoming fear is also a relatively simple process... Because the more you learn, the more comfortable you become. In essence, a higher level of skill translates into a lower level of fear.

b) All things being equal, we enjoy doing business with people we know, like, and trust. Therefore, try taking a keen interest in others and notice how quickly they warm up to you. According to the book, How To Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carnegie, we can accomplish getting people to know, like, and trust us by doing these six things:

 -Become genuinely interested in other people.
 -Smile.
 -Remember that the person's name is the sweetest and most important sound in any language.
 -Be a good listener; encourage others to talk about themselves.
 -Talk in terms of the other person's interest.
 -Make the other person feel important—and do it sincerely.

c) Prospecting is a game—work the numbers! For example, a team of 10, consistently making two new contacts per day, four days per week, will generate 320 new contacts per month—or 3,840 new prospects per year! Would an additional 3,840 new contacts help your business?

2) Do

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Do the thing and you will have the power." The emphasis here is on the word, "Do!" Therefore...

a) Keep the main thing the main thing! How many times today will your company's story be told by you, by one of your associates, by a 3rd party tool, or through an event?

b) Two words: Consistent Activity. Newton's first law of motion states, "An object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an outside force." So get in the game and keep moving!

c) Multiple exposures work best. Don't try to tell the whole story on the first exposure (think of your first exposure as you would a first date). Make sure the MLM system you're using takes you from the initial contact...to the follow-up call...to the next appointment...to the next appointment after that...to, and through, the enrollment process.

3) Teach

Thomas Carruthers once wrote, "A teacher is one who makes himself (or herself) progressively unnecessary." Are you teaching those on your team how to need you less? These points will help:

a) Focus on the basics. Keep what you teach as simple as what you do—and what you do as simple as what you teach. Enough said.

b) Observe your students in action. Let your students first observe you. And then, when they're ready, go along and watch them... Because according to the great philosopher Yogi Berra, "You can observe a lot just by watching." Observe body language, speech, and dress.

c) Track your results. Success is achieved by tracking, and duplicating, the right activity... How many contacts yesterday? Last week? Last month? By tracking your results, you'll know when you're winning, when you're slacking, and when it's time to go back to the basics one more time.

I love calling qualified leads! To me they are the easiest and most effective way to increase business. People have made fortunes from doing it and so can you. The key is to mentally prepare yourself and step out of the box of conventional thinking and doing.

Here are 8 ways to do that.

1. Call your leads when no one else is - During the summer months!
Many will say summer time is a slow time. And they're right ... because they say it's slow. And because they say it, they believe it and what they believe happens. Others will say it isn't slow... and they're right too. And THAT is what makes the difference between mediocrity and greatness!

Let me ask you this. If you had a regular business and you closed it down for 3 months in the summer, what would happen to the momentum, profitability and goodwill of the company? The answer is obvious. So why is it so many Distributors' take the summer off? Wouldn't the same thing likely happen?

So make the summer a stellar time to be in the market and expanding your business. Unlike fall and winter, the field is clear... there is less competition, and you have more time to find, nurture and train your new downline.

2. Calling leads from a lead list is NOT cold calling!
If you’re a little nervous about calling, remind yourself you’re calling someone who has requested you do so.  This is because they are looking for something and you might have the solution.

A cold call is calling someone you have never met and don’t know about. It’s like pulling a name randomly out of the phone book. So do yourself and them a favor... return their request as soon as possible and discover what that is.

3. Expect Positive Responses
People don't think what you think they think. If you start your call with the negative expectation that you will get a lot of resistance - the chances are you will! Why? Because you get what you expect!

People are mostly kind and receptive. Just like you, they're looking for ways to make their life easier, more fulfilling, etc. That's why they invited you to help them.

Again, change your thinking to one that your lead is expecting you to call.

4. Discover What’s Missing In Your Lead's Life
Whatever you do, don't get into the trap of thinking that it's all about 'educating' or 'giving them information.' It's not. It's about allowing them talk in detail about what they want and why they want it.

Having this frame of mind is so important. See yourself as a problem solver... as someone who has potential solutions to the problems your leads are facing. How do you do you do that? By getting into Dialogue with them by

Asking questions
Listening without prejudging
Feeding back based on what you’ve heard them say.

You'll then find every call you make will end with a positive result. Why? Because people love talking about themselves, and they will always feel good about you and listen to you... if you listen to them first!

5. Go Slow To Go Fast.
Spend time here helping you and your lead qualify each other. Ironically, the more time you spend, the faster you will build your business.

Relationships take time. If you don't have time when you call - when will you find time? THIS is the time to find out their 'Why'. Not later on. Your lead will give you all the time in the world. Why? Because they are talking about their favorite subject… themselves. Time just flies by.

Did I say in #5, "helping you and your lead qualify each other"? Yes I did. The answers to your questions are just as much for your lead to think about... ponder and perhaps shift their beliefs over... as they are for you!

Contrary to a lot of conventional opinion, selling is not about qualifying your lead in the first 15 seconds. It's impossible to find out about anything from most people in 15 seconds and you'll lose more opportunities than you will gain if you take this attitude. Spend the time.

7. Don't Wait to Get Good
Most Distributors' wait to be good! As someone I know says, '1 degree of temperature can turn boiling water into steam'. Raise yourself by one degree and you'll turn yourself into the star that's waiting to be released.

8. Be Consistent

You’ll get much better results by being consistent DAILY reaching out to prospects . When you are new you make up in numbers what you lack in skills.

By spending a little time each day learning to develop the skills you need to build your business AND executing the things you learn consistently, you’ll get the results you want…and deserve.

How to Become A Master of The Fundamentals In Network Marketing

It happens, I get that, but I will never completely understand why... Why does someone suddenly appear to represent a Network Marketing Company and then disappear just as quickly as the colors of summer turn and then fade away?

What happened to them? Where did they go? Was it our fault they left us so swiftly? The flowers will return in the spring, but will those we've witnessed wither and die return in the subsequent season of life?

They probably didn't have a big enough dream. They probably didn't even understand what it was they were supposed to do. They probably were a little scared. But they told us they wanted, or perhaps even needed, their business to succeed. It was important to them...

And yet they're gone.

Did they return to the jobs they hated? Did they return to unrewarding careers? Did they give up on their future and settle for an even smaller fraction of the life they deserved? Too many questions rush though my mind as yet another year creeps ever closer to its conclusion...

So what about you? When this year draws to its inevitable conclusion just a few short weeks from now, where will we find you? Will you still be here, actively building your Network Marketing business and loving the life you live? Or will you have become another sad statistic somewhere along the highway of success?

True, how you chart your course is your choice. But remember that your direction, right or wrong, will still ultimately determine your destination. With so many distractions in life, is it any wonder that trying to stay on track is perhaps the most difficult thing we will ever do?

And yet after 10 years as a distributor, writer, and speaker, I've still witnessed far too many good people giving up on Network Marketing too soon. In part because they didn't believe; they didn't take the time to learn; and they didn't fundamentally understand that Network Marketing only works when we do.

But the story of those who quit doesn't need to be yours! If you want to succeed in Network Marketing, then go to work on mastering the fundamentals: build your belief in Network Marketing, improve your skills, and increase your activity. In other words, became a serious student. Learn how this business works. And promise yourself that you'll be here, still actively involved, a year from now!
